We’re back from our trek out west. Just wanted to thank all of you that offered suggestions on train-related things to see.

We took in the Cascade Tunnel and were actually able to witness a meet. We also went to Golden Spike in Utah.

Finally, we rolled through North Platte and got to see the yard. However, the “observation deck” that all of the brochures talk about is a bit lacking. UP (and the city of North Platte) could really do something special out there if they wanted to.

Watching UP/BNSF action on the Columbia River through Oregon was incredible.

Thanks for the heads-up on North Platte. At least, it’s good to know the site is still open, even if it lacks optimum viewing.

I’ve made zero posts and I plan on keeping it that way. Haha!

But anyways, it must be awesome to be able to just go like that. I hope I will be able to do something like that when I get older. It must be awesome.
