Thanks to Jumijo and ChiefEagles

I’ve been looking for answers in past forums and find you guys reply to alot of questions. I just found a thread on installing pink insulation in smoke units and it really made my steamer smoke great! If there weren’t a few guys out there to help us less experienced, we would have alot less fun. thanks

Yea, isn’t searching the archives fun, you can learn soooooo much! If only everybody that uses all forums would use that feature you wouldn’t see the same redundant stupid simple question. The worst are the car boards always asking the same camshaft question.[soapbox]

You’re welcome! I enjoy helping out the new guys.

Hey Stubbs, what question does everyone ask about cam shafts?

Jim

You are certainly welcome.

if everyone used the archives then there would rarly be a new thread started, then the forums would be dead.

Ozzy,

You mean there is nothing new to talk about?

not much, not that gets posted anyway, here or other forums.

They want to know which one they should use. Lift, duration, etc. instead of doing their homework. It would be kinda like seeing the same question here of “which track should I use?”

Ozzy, we do not mind explaining to new people answers to questions. This forum is very relaxed and that is why it is so popular.

isnt that what they are doing when they come to a forum and ask questions? there homework before tackling a project…

These types of forums are a great way to exchange ideas and information on a given subject. We’ve all been the beginner at some point. So when newcomers land here seeking information or advice, I enjoy passing along what I know. Others were kind enough and patient enough to do so with me.

Keep those lobes lubed.

Jim

It is the feedback I get from the grizzled veterans on the board that keeps my interest stoked. If I feel like I have hit a brick wall, someone is always kind enough to provide a helping hand. As I continue to gain experience, I hope I will be able to do the same.

Regards,

John

I feel there are a lot of guys who [like you] are really taking the reins and answering questions. I just sit back and watch. An thread usually does not “sit” long without an answer. This is good.

Grizzled Veterans … moi ???

[(-D]

Just ‘grizzled’ - [:D]

Sometimes GRRRRR!

Obviously, there was no malice in my comments. [:)] But, if Grizzled Veterans doesn’t click, how about Old Schoolers?

Regards,

John

Maybe just OLD?

laz57

I think you just got schooled!

How did this get this far off track? [:-^] Oh…It’s the audience…Nevermind! [(-D]

As I am new to this hobby, I know that I have asked a few questions that you call “stupid”. But everyone, except for maybe one person, who posted an answer on the board was very helpful and did not mind explaining it to me, again. I did use the search and got some information but the information in the archive is only as good as who posted in that thread at that time. Maybe a person who added a suggestion to one of the threads that I started will be helpful to the next Newbie that will be thinking of the same question. Or if he does ask the same question he will get different feedback from possibly the same people or possibly more or different people. So the postings will not be exactly the same as they are suggestions by those who are posting at that time.

But I also want to say that I am very thankful for the knowledge that a lot of the vetrens share on the board and that they keep posting and helping out the newbies, like myself.

So to all the “Grizzled Vetrens [:)]” (you know who you are) Thank You!
