THANKS!

Thank you to all the guys that responded to my posts on L.E.D.'s and Soldering Bus Wires. Your feedback will help me immensely. This is a great group!

it’s a funny thing that nobody mentioned eliminating the need to solder anything except to the rails. i have eliminated soldering on my layout almost completely. i use european style barrier strips from radio shack under my benchwork placed several feet apart and run the buss wires completely through the strip and skin the insulation to make contact with the compression screws. then i tin the feeder wires before inserting them into the strips and tighten the screws. the jumbo size barrier strips will hold at least two 14 awg stranded wires as well as the 20 awg feeders to the rails. the barrier strips support the wire under the layout so there is no need to fasten them to the benchwork. these strips have 12 segmants and i cut them into pairs placed 3 to 4 ft apart screwed to the benchwork. one barrier strip takes care of 24 ft of dcc buss under my layout without any solder.
