Whatever they are serving, I will eat it… [dinner]
It’s going to be shrimp and crab legs for us! [C=:-)] My wife and I decided we were tired of the traditional Thanksgiving meal.
Speaking of Thanksgiving, I give the good Lord thanks for all of you and your inspirational postings, your jokes, your pictures and your advice. You’ve brightened many a boring night at work! [|)]
Turkey and Goose. Happy Thanksgiving, friends!
Turkey.
We also have it at Christmas though I have more than once voiced my preference for goose. The missus says it’s too greasy. I tell her to just scoop out the grease, but she still won’t make it.
We usually have ham or leg of lamb for Easter. (Man, I’m gettin’ hungry!)
i’m a big fan of chicken, but my aunt is serving turkey so i’ll maybe have a piece of that. my mom said it tasted like chicken a few years ago. she lied to me. i was angry. as long as there are mashed potatoes that i can dip the turkey in i’ll be happy.
hopefully everyone has a good day tomorrow. make sure you eat all the food you can, run the trains as much as possible, and watch all the football you can.
Ham. Having the future in laws over for dinner and wanted to avoid the turkey scene from the movie Christmas Vacation!
I hope everyone here has a fantastic weekend. I feel that I know many of you from reading your posts and the bantering that I have done with several of you throughout the various threads. Even if we have disagreed about something, and even if the debate at times may have gotten heated, I’m sure we all agree about what a great hobby this is. When you see folks that don’t have anything meaningful to do with their spare time - we truly have something to be thankful for.
We should also give thanks for those that give so that we may enjoy. Military, police, firefighters, teachers, EMS folks etc. Many of them will be working tomorrow with hardly a complaint so that we may remain safe and secure and enjoy our family and friends.
Happy Thanksgiving all - I know I have plenty to be thankful for!
Beer
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!
I’m with Willy!
Are you kidding?? It’s gotta be turkey!!!
[:)]
You can’t have Thanksgiving without Turkey!!!
so how was everyones meal?
i went to my aunts and had a couple pieces of turkey, a ton of mashed potatoes, some corn and 2 buns. i’m plumped full right now. my cousin is a 1st responder on the fire department and while we were eating i told him i gurantee you’ll get a call when you’re done eating. he gets done with his pie and we start talking next thing we know he gets a call for a fire in an oven. when he got to the house it was canceled so he was back in about 45 minutes. thats the only story i have from this thanksgiving.
Oven fire? Reminds me of the movie “The Santa Clause” lol
Hawk - make sure you thank your cousin for standing by and being ready to respond to an emergency. We so often take things like that for granted.
Put a turkey and ham in the smoker yesterday morning with apple and hickory wood-Delicious! [dinner]
well i know this thread is year old but i decided 2 reserect it from the dead sence it was the day after thanksgiving! I had turkey both years!! TK
I cooked our turkey last Sunday and everyone in our family has been eating at it for the last few days. On Thanksgiving Day, we just kept eating left overs.
What are you guys talking about? Thanksgiving is in October up here, lol. I’m kinda lucky, I get to have 2 Thanksgivings, October and this weekend, my mother in law is American and puts on a huge party on Sunday. [dinner] We have to work on Thursday up here, [sigh]
we had duck an lobster
we’re an everything but turkey family
We had a house full. I fixed a turky *** and a ham on the smoker and one turky *** in the oven. I also made a peach cobbler and fixed baked beans with bacon top. Wife did pumpkin pies, mashed potatoes, green bean cassarole and potatoe salad. Meal required an hour and a halve nap after eating. Even Bubba [>^…^<] had a nap.
Nice Deep fried Turkey, still full.
Happy Thanksgiving!!!
