I was in a local store the other day and came across these in their Christmas section. Each item in the store sells for a dollar, thus the name the Dollar Tree store. I spray painted a few with a rattle can, and after that dried doused them liberally with cheap ultra hold, a hurricane couldn’t move your hair, hair spray, and sprinkled on WS fine ground foam in what colors I had.
The package of two sells for one dollar. I plan to use mine toward the backdrop and mingle in some super trees, bushes and the like. The first time I went in the store they had trees in the 6 to 8 inch range. Today they had shorter ones but they’ll do to help populate a forest.
I stopped at both of our Dollar Tree stores here in Rochester, MN. They do not have the individual trees in the blister pack. Is there a stock number on teh back of the package. The mgr said if I can provide it, she will try to order some for me.
It is handy and economical tips like these that make it fun to be on this forum frequently- I learn something new every day in the hobby. It reminds me of the old “Kinks” column in MR years ago.
If only we could collect all the current image-rich tips of today in a single-site accessible manner in pdf format, we could replicate the old “764 Helpful Hints” book! I still look at it from time to time and find it useful.
I’ll do my part now and post some frugal “discoveries” made just this past weekend in another posting…
