The Allegheny Midland: Lessons Learned
A nice entertaining read. The author could have spent a little more time discussing problems he came across in regards to actual physical construction of the layout, however, he did address conceptual issues quite well. I recommend adding it to ones personal library. I was always inspired by the Appalachian Lines, and still am.
