Hi guys, …I’ve been working on an Athearn GP-35 that I purchased in 82’ and went into the scrap pile about 5 years ago. Iv’e worked on it every chance i got for a week now and finally got it running. …most of the parts were scavenged from an old GP-9 that had a broken frame from hitting the floor too hard and wasn’t going to run again. I know that there are very few if no GP-35’s left over from the SP days but why throw away a perfectly good engine?..I put the UP patches on it and numbered it # 794 taken from an old UP GP-35…I also put the headlights on the nose of the GP-35 from the rear set on the GP-9 that was common on most GP-35’s…it’s freelance at it’s finest!..here is a picture of the outcome http://community.webshots.com/photo/137793353/257578321ffWjJo
