picked this up throught a yahoo group i belong to…
about 9 pm last night (Friday) in a former Erie yard in Dayton Ohio, two Ringling Bros performance horses were hit by an NS train. One was killed instantly, the other was put down a short time later.
Give us the details:
Was this NS’s fault,or Ringling Bros?
Thats sad[:(]
like i said, it was word of mouth rather that a news story… about the only addition i can post is that Ringlin Bros. were unloading the horses at the time the NS freight came through, and the Ringling crew weren’t really expecting it.
Be aware trains may move on any track in any direction at any time…circuis or not!
Yes it is very sad. [:(] [V]
Here UP keeps the circus train a short distance from the mainline. As far as I know there have not been any accidents like that here. You would think that any railroad hosting the circus train would make sure its people knew it was there and that they would be careful knowing that people and animals were around. I guess that didn’t happen. [:(!]
