Page 31 October MR mag. Cat Die cast train set made by Norscot models?
My brother in-law has alot of Cat equipment, and can probably get one of these sets cheap for me[:D]
are they any good or just for display.

The ad does not state the train set is die cast, I assume it was made for them by someone else, Athearn, Life-Like, Bachmann, etc.

AHA! But that could be taken different ways - the set contains a die-cast machine, and/or the plastic is also cast from dies too. I still think the train models appear to be made of plastic. Imagine the weight of a die cast metal F-7!

I haven’t gotten my Oct MR yet, but maybe they are referring to the diecast cat tractors and the trainset is a reg set painted Cat colors. They have a box at my LHS but I never bothered to look. We see Caterpillar day in and day out since I live in the yellow’s backyard here in Peoria…In fact we get yellow money, girlfriend works at Cat.
Oh sweet, the October MR is shipping. Hopefully I’ll get mine tomorrow or monday.
Ah I hadn’t thought of that!! I emailed Norscot to see if it’s made by them and avaliable.
They do make it ( maybe ) and it’s out in October $199.99

My Mag came very early I thought and it’s posted from Auckland NZ, I wonder do they send a bulk load over from the US and then mail them out from there?
