A real nice layout.
Looks like you’ll be working on it for sometime to come.
Fascinating video - shows the amount of realism that can be accomplished in n-scale where passenger cars are not hanging over the curves, and despite the work in progress, the eye moves to the train running and senses the visual depth that can be gained including a real sense of the region portrayed. Impressive operational technology, with the right amount of human interference to make this a challenging operation. My preference is O scale, but absolutely appreciate the potential of n-scale. Great job!
Thank you for the comments. I enjoy sharing the layout and was thrilled to see the video here! To address some of the comments/questions: (1) I am using Digitrax DCC, including the signaling system. The signals themselves were manufactured by South Bend Signal Company. The signal bridges use their signal heads on scratchbuilt bridge structures. (2) Neither Ben nor I am responsible for the gun control ad. (3) I did not hear any profanity in the segment, and would not have allowed it to be there. I’m certain Ben wouldn’t have either. (4) Ben and I have already talked about doing more videos in the future. The passenger train idea was used to show a quick-running tour of the railroad from an excursion train. Perhaps future videos can cover freight operations more in depth, as passenger operations are actually rare on the railroad. You can find more layout/railroad videos on Ben’s Youtube Channel (nstrainfan) and a few other short CR&E videos on my Youtube Channel (kntower349). Thanks for watching!
Fantastic Layout! Here’s a tip: move the washer and dryer upstairs if you can. We did years ago out of the train area and it has really paid off. Great Work!
Thanks for the introduction to your layout. I look forward to updates, especially a cab-mounted video tour. Best wishes.
Great looking layout!
I’d be really interested in a revisit to this layout, once Marcus has had chance to progress with his scenery. It should be really impressive.
Very interesting. When it is completed I am sure it will be a nice looking layout. The trains seem to run smooth.
Excellent video and introduction to your layout and a very fine
running n-scale.
Keep us updated on the progress, and thanks.
A rich and detailed operation. Trackwork looks very smooth, which must be especially important with the grades you have. It was actually helpful to see parts of the layout in various stages of construction. I look forward to seeing more as development continues. Kudos on a fine system. Looks like great fun!
fantastic operating layout looking great a great layout for models railroaders to view no matter what gauge they are operating on
nice job, good to see you can still enjoy operations while under construction. look forward to updates.
Looks like a lot of work ! I like the scenery , but not the scale .
This is how it’s done…! Truly fantastic. I was impressed with the track work…outstanding and no derailments.
When the scenery is completed this layout should receive the Oscar…!
