Hi all most other forums have a forum called “The Coffe Shop”. This is a forum where you would chat over a cup of coffe . The topic is whatever you you want food, shopping, or even garden railways! And before i go the are biscuits, bagels, donuts, oh and coffe to.
Any chipped beef and gravy served over those biscuits? [bow] Sure could go for some old fashion S.O.S., Army style. But then the doctor would have my tail feathers hoisted up the nearest flag pole! Too much salt and cholesterol. [:(]
On a more serious note. Every one is talking about how hot it is, and how it is interfering with their GRR operations. Since the dirt has not yet settled on my Rosebud Falls GRR (still toying around with variations on the name) the commissioner of land management (W.I.F.&E.) Took me out plant and tree shopping yesterday. When we got to Anderson’s Nursery (Powway, San Diego County) I was abruptly told to let her look by herself and to go watch their trains. Even their water lilies were wilting from the heat. Didn’t buy anything, but got a great look at some of the options. Of course she (who must be obeyed) vetoed my more whimsical selections. Oh well, the coffee has been good but it is time to go back to work on the waterfall. Have a nice day all. [swg]
Almost forgot, while at Anderson’s the population of Rosebud Falls grew by three. A mother and daughter in their sunday best, and a hobo sitting by his camp fire.[:D]
Well, it is hot here, ‘bout 110 average, and I can not work on the railroad except EARLY in the morning around 7 or 8 when its about 85-90! geez, i can’t wait till’ this heat wave passes, I want to get back to running trains!
You know I’m only joking Vic (or you should by now !)
You know when the forum has reached stagnation when Marty posts a picture.
He’s learning though.Steam this time !
OK.I’ve made my cross,it’s bloody heavy ,and I’m carrying it…[}:)]
Ways to beat the heat and still play with the GRR!!!
Go to Wal~Mart sporting goods. they have this little “heat beater neck scarf” fill the sink with water throw the scarf in the water, these little beads soak up the water. Tie it around your neck and the beads will evaporate the water theyby cooling the neck.
Get a large straw hat. And WEAR it!
Get yourself a LARGE glass of “ice tea”.
After a couple of “ice tea’s”, I don’t mind the heat any more! By the way the temp has cooled down to 105 F here in San Diego, today.
Of course I’ve been working on the water fall today, so I’ve been standing in waist deep VERY COOL water.
I tried that, ttrig. But with 90% humidity the [censored] thing just stayed wet. Useless.
Straw hat is a good idea, though. Anything to keep the sun off…[:)]
Evening everyone! Well, didn’t get all that much done on the railroad today, just trimmed some braches from a neighbors tree that was hanging over the railroad and dropping leaves on the tracks, other than that nothin’ much went on here at all today! Oh well, thats life I guess.
P.S.- Encoarge other guys to come to the forum and the coffee shop!!!
