The DCC Guide, Second Edition
The book answered a lot of questions about DCC but also created more by not being as clear as I would like to wire a new layout I am planning. On one hand, I am considering the MRC prodigy advanced or Digitrax empire builder system. Both come with a controller, base unit and power supply and both say that there is enough power to run (3.5a) to run a fair sized layout (mine will be a shelf layout, aprox 30x22 ft double deck with a helix connecting at one end). The book shows a command station, boosters, circuit breakers connecting to the track. So I have to do more research to see how either of these two systems relate to the circuits shown in the book. Over all, there is a lot of good information and I found it very helpful in getting an understanding on how DCC works.
