Good Monday morning, and Happy lst Day of June, and our new location for a month. Does anyone know who we contact now, to lock the old place? I think I got everything moved, and didn’t forget anything. All the tablecloths are moved, the music system, the layouts, and everything else got packed and moved.
Coffee, juice and other morning refreshments are ready, and the usual breakfast items are on the warmer bar, including bagels and bear claws.
Hopefully, I’ll be back in time for lunch this afternoon: I go to my primary care doctor this morning, for my regular checkup. But, just in case I don’t make it back, could one of you fix some bacon and make BLTs for lunch?
Everyone have a good morning, take care, and I’ll see you all sometime later this afternoon.
Good morning Miss Paula, and thanks for the move. Currently, 71 and clear in Carolina on the way to 93 and a remote possibility of lightning this evening. Everybody take care
rain rain on the way.matt is on time and on the bus.Cw I can slice up some tomatoes and put some lettuce in a bowl for Blt’s before my nap.here is coffee mug mookie.
Good morning all…it’s good to be back after a all-too-long absence while Mom was in the hospital after a couple of strokes and is now in rehab and fixing to move into assisted living in about a month. Those rehab folks are doing wonders for Mom and she is doing much, much better about two months on. Well, I haven’t been doing any serious amount of railfanning since Mom’s condition arose, but hope to get back to the rails soon. It will be about 80F and very rainy here in Aurora today and I’d like to thank Paula for the yummy breakfast. Y’all have a good day, ya hear? (I picked that up while visiting Mom in S.C.).
Thanx for cup, Joe. Breakfast is just as good in this new location as before!
Jim - nice to hear your mom is getting better. I hope you see more than we have seen trackside. It has been pretty quiet, altho I find that coal runs east on Sunday afternoon and overnite Wed into Thurs they run a mix of everything. Those seem to be our “busy” times.
Got to hold my new great grandson this morning. He is about 3 mos old and slept very quietly in my arms until he had a “south wind” move through and woke him up. As with most babies, he is a cutie and looks a lot the Driver in the hair department - all in the back…[:-,]
So have a week to enjoy him before he heads back up north and then back permanently end of June. Think there may be some babysitting time in here somewhere. [^]
You did it all by yourself? Or did Mutt help? I trust that your primary care physician finds all in good order, and you don’t need any special care after all that labor.[:)]. Take care of yourself; we need the meals you provide.
I’m over half way through with putting the main color (apple martini) on the house; I need to fill in the spots the roller couldn’t reach–and paint under the eaves and the carport ceiling (complete with rafters), and then put the trim color (hnadmade paper) on. Aren’t the names for shades and tints interesting?
Say, Jim, did you grow up in South Carolina and move away from God’s country, or did your mother move there after you left the nest?
Back in AZ after two weeks in CO. My brothers always meet me for Memorial Day at our parents burial site, a bueatiful and well kept cemetery in our home town.
We are have cool and unseasonably rainy weather in AZ, NM and CO. Usually May is the dryest month in AZ but not this year.
I will be enjoying the home cooked meals with Paula and her many assistants after eating cafe food for most of the two weeks. Whatever you fix will be great with me!!!
I am sure your great grandson will get the proper "train"ing. My dad said this morning thunderstorms had hail down his way.Hope Modelcar is okay.More storms to come tonight and tommorow.I have more lettuce and tomatoes ready for salads or BLT’s tonight.Time to do some chores.
Good afternoon, everybody. Well, the doctor appointment went pretty good. I’ve gained 3 lbs. since the last time I was in there. He didn’t say anything about that, so I’m not going to worry too much about the slight weight gain. Also had to come home and call my orthopedic surgeon. The ankle/arch support he prescribed, doesn’t seem to be working too well: my right foot is bruised, and it keeps rubbing a raw spot on the inside of my foot.
Mookie, I wish I were closer to you, and I’d help hold/cuddle your great grandson. That is, if you’d share holding duty.
Eola Jim, I hope your mom continues to improve. Sorry to hear about the strokes. Will keep you and yours in my prayers.
Joe, thanks for taking care of lunch for me today. Your help is always appreciated, along with the others who help out around here. And as warm as it is here in Louisville, BLTS or leftover chicken stir fry for supper tonight sounds pretty darn good. Salad sounds pretty good, also!
(For some strange reason, I can’t pick font family, size, or color this afternoon. Is anyone else having this problem?) I click the arrow, and the list comes down for the font family, but it won’t highlight any of the font selections or the font size.)
After class today travelled to Syracuse to see the two grandkids together. Newest arrival is still pretty oblivous to things, but 15-month-old found her cousin interesting - unless her mom was holding the baby…
Back to class tomorrow, then dinner at home with son and his family before they head back to Maryland on Wednesday.
Good Tuesday morning, everyone. It’s a very warm morning here in Louisville this morning: 75 degrees, going for a high in the low 90s, with a 20% chance of pop up showers/storms late afternoon, early evening. And we still have about 2 and a half weeks until the official start of summer.
Coffee, juices, lemonade, hot water for tea, Gatorade and iced tea are ready.
On the warmer bar this morning: turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, hash browns, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, bagels and bear claws.
Mookie, here’s your coffee mug. I wish I could join you in the garden this morning: it would be a very lovely morning for it. Unfortunately, I have Tuesday Produce this morning; we would really like to see some good things on the truck: like cantaloupe, watermelon, fresh tomatoes, maybe some strawberries and grapes.
You all have a great morning, and I’ll see you all later.
matt is on time and on the bus.today is his last day at school for the year.his teacher is taking a break after 40 years of teaching.more rain today so good sleeping weather. Then chores after the nap.
We have a beautiful morning here in central Indiana…A strong system of storms moved right on our northern edge, and across us from west to east last night. Some sharp lightning, but no problems that I know of here.
Today, possible thrunderstorms later but looks like we’ll have time to do some necessary running around town to do various things and get our yard mowed again…
The above storm system that moved thru last night was reported to be producing some baseball size hail in areas northwest of us…Glad we did not see such. I have seen hail stones that size back many years ago over in our home area of Pennsylvania. 1948, to be exact. Damaged some vehicles and some metal {tile shaped}, roofing on our station, and put indents on the gas pumps. Terrible sound on the roof as it was occuring.
Tom…we go along and wish you the best at your Dr. today…
