THE FLAT WHEEL DINER AND COFFEE SHOP AUGUST SEPTEMBER OCTOBER EDITION

Time to move again. All hands lay back to the galley and let’s get things going.

I see the moving truck was/is a little early. didn’t think we need to be out until 0000/2400 hours.

I’m still in the middle of getting the “O” Scale layout ready to move![;)]

…Is this where it is…?

Got me a peticklement - 2 feet in July, 2 in Aug. Not terribly lady-like nor is it comfortable! [:X]

well we made a quick trip east.had to follow an ICE train.while in town we played post office for the trains photo contest.Walt I’ll help you with that layout. We better not lose the coffee maker or mookies hammock either.

Wow! I didn’t even mention moving, last night or this morning. You guys are a day ahead of me! Finally got everything from the (old) kitchen moved into this one. And yes, Joe, coffee pots are in the correct locale. Mookie ain’t the only one who can’t function without coffee!! [;)]

I’ll be back in two, three hours, with our pizza menu for tonight. Everyone take care.

[:D] Yep’ Quentin this is where it’s at. Alfalfa can be a problem if not dried for a bit longer than a day or two . Turn the windrow a few times depending on H & H . Down on the flat at Phx. they still have BIG burns of hay due to hurried time to put up . Most hay is stored outside away from buildings. Those are dairy farms, so you can see why. Like Mr. Murph said , if it can happen it will. Have fun . Cannonball

I Guess if you want, thanks for the help with the “O” Scale layout, seems it’s getting harder and harder to move each time!

I’m up for some Pep and mush pizza if there’s any left. How’s everyone doing? Haven’t had a lot of time to hang out lately. Hope all is generally well. Periodically run across others out in the wide world of RRing. Overall, we are doing well on the RRs compared to the rest of the economy. Hope we manage to keep it going. Lost a lot of traffic last year. Now trying to break down doors and get it back or find replacements…

LC

Good Sunday morning, everyone. Partly cloudy skies, with a temp in the low 70s this morning. Going to be another very, very warm day, with a high here in the low 90s. Tomorrow’s high will be around 97 degrees. Yuck!

Thank you to all you guys who helped with the move yesterday.

I don’t know if she’ll make it in here, but want to wish Nance69 a Very Happy Birthday today! Nance, hope it’ll be a very good one for you, and may you have many, many more!!

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go. On the warmer/serving station this morning: Cinnamon rolls, bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits & gravy.

Got some pork chop abracadbra going in the Crock Pot/Slow Cooker for Sunday Dinner. And if there’s something else you’d like to have, let me know, and I’ll get it going, too.

Everyone have a very good morning, whether you’re going to Church, work, or just out railfanning, or whatever else you have to do today. Just keep as cool as possible, and take care.

Good morning 72 and showers in Carolina, only getting up to 85. After the past few days, this is a veritable cold snap!

CW, might we have some meatloaf with plenty of ketchup? Thanks for breakfast, BTW

I have been listening to some real talent over the past few days. Old radio shows with Edgar Bergen, Fred Allen and others. Very funny and nothing vulgar or suggestive. Them was the days!! I hope to get them downloaded and onto a zip drive soon…

Everyone have a great and blessed day. Peace be with you.

Good Morning all…Tom, it is shocking if one compares comedy of radio days to current offerings…kinda sad too, our society now accepts it like it’s ok to broadcast such stuff, no matter who might be listening or looking.

Our Sunday morning…Aug. 1st…! Wow, already…we’re moving on, fast, and we have a bright, sunny morning. To reach about 86 today and mostly sunny all day.

Back to 90 tomorrow, and sunny, then rain possibly for next several days.

Today…I must get my lawn mowed…Needed to do that 2 - 3 days ago, but moisture prevented me from doing it.

Now, it’s getting ready for church time…and then Spaghetti at Olive Garden after that with friends, then check the remaining laps of the Sprint Nascar series at Pocono…Don’t really like that track, but that’s where they are today.

morning

Good Morning all…Its gonna be brutal here in Alamo City. Expected high of 101 today. Gotta get to the grocery store before it gets too oppressively hot.

Enjoy your Sunday!

The first round of pork chop abracadbara w/potatoes and onion, and meat loaf (with the tomato ketchup on top) w/mashed taters& gravy, corn, and your choice of sweet green peas, broccoli, brussels sprouts are on the warmer/serving station.

For dessert today, we have: chocolate cake w/chocolate icing w/Happy Birthday on it , blackberry pie, and the following cobblers: apple, peach and strawberry, all served with ice cream.

Everyone enjoy your dinner, have a good, safe, cool afternoon and take care. See you all later.

Nope, unfortunately most new truck drivers don’t pay attention to their surroundings, or trust their GPS system too much. Funny how that showed up after our talk yesterday…

Working on the model railroad some more today, spiking down more track and prepping for wiring. Went on a shopping spree friday after passing my DOT physical (am now good until April), and bought more cars for the layout, by the time Trainfest in Milwaukee rolls around, should have a decent size intermodal train, and a good size manifest train as well. So, have been doing the usual detailing and changing over of couplers. One of these days, need to get sound decoders for more locomotives…

See everyone later…

LC - glad to see you are still with us! [^] Don’t know if you remember, but Pep was a cereal many years ago that was to help “move” you thru the day and mush was a big favorite of mine - cornmeal mush, fried and then served with honey on it. So if you want pizza like that, well, to each his own! [:-,]

Saw a feathered friend of yours a few weeks ago. Hear he is on overheat right now. And BNSF has its moments. Some days the traffic practically runs over us and others (like today) really quiet. But still moving.

Stop in again and let us know you are still out there and doing ok.
