One of my latest projects has been a pretty neat one. I decided to try to make my own LED bulbs to fit in my postwar locos. It turned out to be quite successfull!! used miniatronics 5mm YeloGlo LEDS, they are very bright, and use very little amperage, which means more of the juice can go to the big pulmor and smoke unit in my turbine!!
How I made it is that I took a old dead bulb, popped out the old elment and glass, poke out all the insulation, and a few other things (ill get a diagram drawn, too much to tell here).
Jerry,
Very timely, I am looking at getting the supply list up for putting lights in an old pre-war rebuild and also fixing a few Postwar favorites. I look forward to any more information you can provide.
Thanks,
Dennis
Looks like you have a very good idea Jerry! I was wondering, How did you get the glass off the lightbulb without breaking it? Sounds like a very delicate situation. Anyway, it looks like you did a very good job.
