Lets give this a try. I know that the N scalers have there own group. I just wanted to start one for the HO scaler’s. I dont know if anyone has tried this but I think it should work the N scaler’s one have over 70 pages and im guessing there are more HO modelers than N scale.
Post anything about HO!!!
Ill get us started. Does anyone know much about the steel mill by walters. Is it pretty good.
Umm… I don’t know if this will work, HO scale has only a bit more popularity than N, and I don’t know what they talk about over there (maybe we should send a spy[swg]) but I don’t know if this will get off the ground. You can try though.
Have to agree with David B, the majority of modelers who frequent the MR General Discussion Forums are HO scale folks, so I am not sure that a specific thread for HO will get any legs under it, but you never know.
As far as the steel mill kit goes, it would be too big for my HO layout, but I have plans to incorporate a steel fabrication plant that gets shipments from what would be an offsite steel mill. I am basing it off of SteelFabwhere my wife works. They have six structural and fabrication facilities in five southern states and a few of them get shipments by rail, but most of their material is shipped by truck.
Organizations for “majorities” are disdained in this country while the opposite is true for “minorities.” For instance, there are organizations for Hispanic and Black certified public accountants, but not for European-descent certified public accountants. Since HOers outnumber N-persons by more than 2 or 3 or more to 1, I don’t think a special “chat” column for HOers will be successful.
I find it strange that an N-scaler would initiate a separate HO chat column.
Actually, Challenger has decided to switch over to HO scale. He’s got another post about his projected layout and he sounds really enthusiastic about it.
Time to put the popcorn away, Jeff, because there isn’t going to be much of a show. Sorry, Kyle. I’m going to have to nip this thread, too, for several reasons:
HO is very well represented here on the forum
Erik (Bergie) gave his consent for Dave to start a N-scale thread to address the needs of N-scalers
