The incredible shrinking layout.

I am retiring an old N scale layout but i am keeping a partial section. This section has been over a base board heater and has shrunk a little, and the track has buckled. I was wondering if there is some kind of tool to align the track so i can re-solder the joints. Although i have done this by eye before it seems like i need 3 hands.

One possibility is track guides by Ribbonrail.

I am not sure what you mean by buckled, but if the rails have bent in any way (verticle or horizontal), I have a sinking feeling that the track, once buckled, is very likely to be a permanent problem spot even if you can wrassle it into perfect gauge again.

Could you use a Dremel tool to cut a few gaps in the rails to relieve the buckling stress, then solder the rails back together?
