The last Bulgarian narrow gauge

Hi

here is a short trailer from our latest film made on the last Bulgarian narrow gauge line in Rhodope mountains.

The line is still in operation, daily 6 trains commute between Septemvri and Dobrinishte. The line is 125 km long and has 35 tunnels.

The gauge is 760 mm, the summit of the line is on elevation of 1267m.

Our special train is hauled with the last steam locomotive. The class 609.76 is a Schwartzkopff design, made in Chrzanov,Poland in 1949.

Please enjoy.

Looks like it is here to stay!

Finally. A European steam locomotive with a whistle that sounds like a whistle to an American! Nice.
