MY fat cat- Furball wants nothing to do with my trains, how ever my other cat - Chessie (C&O) wants to play with not my trains but my dad’s!!! She holds a grudge with my dads RS1- it is the only train she cares to attack!!![:O]
This one is my “playful” kitty. He “helps” me put on my shoes every morning. He does NOT get to go anywhere near my trains. Ever!
Folk’s,my cat Loki, won’t even get off the arm of the couch. So I think my trains are safe from Loki . However,my jack russell terrier “rowdy”, loves my work bench work light. Little bugger,flip’s out at the mere sight of the lamp and jumps up at it.

Cat fur destroyed one of my BB F7s. I didn’t have another cab unit for 4 years.
Now catts aren’t allowed in the basement, at the expense of our nostrils as the litterbox got moved.
Now the old cat died a couple monthss ago, we got 2 kittens 2 years ago, and they are so afraid of the trains for some reason. The sight of 3 SD40-s pulling a grain train causes them to bolt as fast as they can!

My wife wants to get a cat in the future so I made a deal with her, put a boor on the rec/train room and we can get one!

I don’t think Bogie has even noticed my trains, yet. He couldn’t get to them, even if he wanted to. I’ve already learned to keep things out of reach, of the destoyer of worlds.

what is it with cats and trains ?
one of mine used my first layout as its bed whilst it was under construction and another would lie in a cutting on my 3rd layout and watch te trains go through it’s legs

I have a mini doxie and she is no threat to anything except herself and squirells.
Kali (my old cat) would crawl up and sit in the park in the middle of town and watch as the trains went by she rarely attacked anything. What she didn’t like was if I put smoke fluid in one of the B-mann’s and had that go around. I think she didn’t like the smell and didn’t like the taste of it on her fur.
As for Sphinx…so far she has been real good. She doesn’t go after trains on the test track so I am keeping my fingers crossed
