THE LIONEL LEGACY

i am planning on getting the new lionel legacy remote i am wondering what buttons do i push for tower com and crew talk [?]

The same buttons you would push on the CAB-1.

In CAB-1 mode, these will be #2(for crew talk) and #7(after initially pressing AUX-1 once). If you’re running the engine in TMCC mode, it’s the top middle button for crew talk, and the lower left button of the LCD keypad for towercom.

Once you program in the engine as a Legacy or TMCC loco, the backlit keypad will redisplay to show the appropriate icons for accessing features specific to that engine in the control mode you have selected. In CAB-1 mode (32 relative speed steps) the buttons will look just like the CAB-1. In TMCC mode (absolute 32 speed steps) and Legacy mode (200 absolute speed steps), the LCD’s behind the keypad will shift to icons and you can just hit the appropriate icon for the function you want. No more overlays to lose track off.

thanks for the info

this is my setup. i have the tpc 400 and i have 2 fastrack terminals on my layout with fastrack terminal 1 i have one wire connected to the command base on fastrack terminal 2 i have 2 wires connected to the tpc 400 can i do the same setup when i get the new legacy control next month. right now i am using the cab-1 remote ( please let me know )

The legacy base just replaces the old TMCC command base. The serial cable you have connected from the existing command base gets moved to the serial port on the new command base. The antenna wire that goes to the old base moves to the antenna base on the Legacy base. You will have to program in the TPC and your loco’s via the CAB-2 but that’s about it.
