The Making of Trains
After watching this video, I decided to reevaluate my preference for receiving information in print – as opposed to video – form. I learned more about the inner workings of the magazine during the 10 minutes that I watched the video than I had learned in 50 years of reading the magazine.
Great piece. I have subscribed for decades yet I had no idea how things are done.

Thanks for having us at the office. Very good mix of following the flow of information and getting to know the people; made me feel like a live visit. Only missed the invite for coffee
A very interesting overview of how Trains is put together. For me, one of the highlights of Trains is the quality of the maps and graphics which was covered well in the video. Well done!
Wow, folks! This was so great! Not only do I now have a better idea of how my favorite magazine is put together, I also have a face to go with the various names I see in the magazine. Thank you for doing this for your readers. I, for one, appreciate the work you put into this, in addition to the hassle of putting out a magazine issue every month. Are you open to requests? If so, as a retired electrical controls engineer, I’d really love to see how the actual magazine is printed. I’m sure the modern high speed color presses no longer use the old metal typesetting plates! It’d be great to see how it goes from where this video left off to how it becomes a finished magazine. Anyway, thanks a lot for a great video!
Really enjoyed this video. Thank you!
