What do you think were the most boring fallen flags? My top five, in no particular order, would be:
- Katy
- MP
- MILW
- CGW
- WM

This thread will cause alot of controversy. Those are some of the most popular roads, and the Katy is one of my personal favorites, and I adore the MoPac.
Geez, someone has a hate-fetish of the BN
[:(!]Ya,no kidding.
Allan.
Its just for fun.
Why do you consider them “boring fallen flags”?!?!
Railroads were built from region to region, to supply a
service to the people. Now why would anybody pick a
particular road/region to diss, or call boring?
Yeah Jim (bnsfkline),you’re right;this thread will start
some controversy;'cause I’m starting some now.
bobwilcox,
What makes you think this?!
In this list, must be the CGW. Who wants to model a set of ABBBBBA F’''s? Merged with the C&NW, now mostly ripped apart & not running any trains.
You might want to categorize this a little – steam; late steam/early diesel; diesel. As an example, I find the Wild Mary very interesting up through the mid-50’s. Not so interesting in its last 10 years of existence. In my opinion, there is nothing more exciting than watching six or seven H-9 Consolidations hauling a coal drag up the Black River grade from Elkins WVa in the post-war years.
Hey bobwilcox,
What defines a “boring fallen flags railroad” anyway? I have been a trains/railroad fan for several years and never found any one of them boring. I can remember the Rock Island, Missouri Pacific, MKT and others; all interesting railroads.
The Milwaukee Road was not and is not boring!!! [:(!]
Someone needs anger management. BN may have gone through a lot of mergers, but they aren’t that bad.
[:O][(-D][(-D][:-,][(-D]
i really do not consider any railroad boring. They are trains, what is not to like.
BN SUCKS!!!
All railroads are interesting in some way or another. If they are still running, they’re doing something right. Boring is not the correct word, less colorful might be more accurate.
That is exactly what i meant.
So…We’re waiting…
Well, good points have been proven about how railroad’s aren’t exactly boring, but here’s the railroad that I think has had the most boring equipment…
Norfolk and Western…
I mean, come on, black and white locomotives and rolling stock? Black and white is understandable on coal hoppers, but on everything?
I hope this doesn’t cause controversy.

One question. What about the Js, and the passenger cars it pulled? They were a nice dark brown, and the loco had some stripes down the side, and did have some color. Plus that road had a lot of motive power that some did not
Let the Flameing begin.
