Went to the LHS and got a spectrum GP30 and some oil to quiet down my 2-8-0.
Then I caught IANRs once-a-week train switching the ex-CGW Oelwein yard. I didn’t catch them coming in but watched them switching for about 20 minutes before they left town[:D][:D][:D][:D]. My first actual railfanning.[:D][:D]
then, a relative had advised me there were some train videos at the local public library and they were selling them for $1 a piece. I got 11 videos, all Pentrex-

11 tapes for $11. Talk about a good deal[:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D][:D] The video on #261 is $30 from pentrex so I think I made a great deal on these tapes.
Ill add to this as well. Congrats on your findings. I had a halfday of work so I had the morning and most of the afternoon to myself. I stopped at Walthers, and dropped $135.00. I got the two new Woodland Scenics buildings, a $10 store front kit from walthers (Dented packaging retails for $23), and a package of Rix products overpasses.
On the way home, it seemed like every area I passed that was railroad tracks and crossings I saw a train going one way or another, and switching a yard. It was a great day.
Yup. Next thursday I plan to watch IANR again and then go to the library and buy the remaining tapes and sell them if I don’t want them. (but I’d pry end up keeping them[swg])
Good thing they were videos. It always amazes me that the DVDs from the library are usually all scratched up by the time I see them. The only thing I can figure is that people must either play catch with their dog with them or use them as coasters. [%-)]
yeah. I have watched 7-8 of them (lost count already) and they played great. One tape (dont rememeber which) has some lines going thru the screen for about 20 seconds but other than that they’re all fine. some ever appear to have never been played.
