The N scale Rock Island RR
Thank you for the tour. Could you tell me please, how do the trains transition between levels? I did not see a helix nor did I recognize any long grades.
John, the trains go up grade after crossing the Rock River toward the beginning of the layout tour. The grade tops out at the west end of Ottawa as it crosses over the tracks at Joliet. There was originally a helix at Bureau Junction that went up to Ottawa, but it was removed and a longer run with grade was added.
Sure missed seeing any humans. Nary a one on the whole layout.
Great job and it looks real. The small, added details, set it apart from other layouts.
