Does anyone have any photos or videos of Lionel’s Thomas the Tank Engine & Friends Diesel? Once I saw it in the catalog I was wondering how it would turn out. Does it run well? Look prototypical for a British Railways Class 08? etc. Thanks guys.
Here’s Diesel pulling a short Christmas train on the Jumijo. We’ve had ours just since Saturday. Ours seems to run well. No magnatraction like Percy though. The horn sounds great, but needs to be louder. You can not hear it when the train is running on FasTrack.
Remove the face and put in a grill, and I think you’d have yourself a very prototypical BR locomotive.

I was suprised to see it was still in the line-up. One of Lionel’s posted shipping schedules earlier this year had listed it as cancelled.
I know Mavis was cancelled. Mavis and Diesel look a lot alike. Diesel is a little bland, shall we say? I’m waiting for Lionel to cut loose with a Gordon. Sorry kids, that one is for dad!

Lol. I’m hoping they make Henry & the Scotish Twins: Donald & Douglas.
Diesel looks OK. The only thing that really looks wrong compared with a 08 is that the coupling rods are inside the frames when they should be on the outside.
