Goodafternoon everyone! I have the PE and love the air whistle(wish it had a bell too!) My question is , is the new PE tender w/trainsounds just the same tender w/trainsounds like my NYC tender, or does it have its very own PE sound recordings ?

Not having any other Trainsounds tenders, I don’t know how it compares, but it does not have any Polar Express sounds on it.
Oh, and the whistle sounds like a horn.

Thanks for the answers! Im planning on adding TMCC w/cruise but not the sound. I think the air whistle sounds great. But it is amazing how a 6yr old picks up on the CW-80 having a bell button but when he pushes it it nothing happens!!! I think Lionel designers should have watch the actual movie. Because the would have learned about the importance of HEARING the BELL!!! I will just spend my money on the TMCC upgrade!

The odd sounding whistle is the only thing I’d say is a “negative”. The chuff sounds are decent and the bell is very good. Your six year old would enjoy it.

Did the standard Polar Express tender have trainsounds?
No. It just has an air whistle.

Thats a bit of a dissopointment, I thought it had trainsounds. all the other berks like it have it.
Well if it came with a Trainsounds tender in the set, Lionel wouldn’t be able to charge you an extra $90 for it as a seperate sale item, now would they? [;)]
The Trainsounds tender’s chuff does cut out when the whistle or bell is used. It comes back on when the sound button is released. Great bell, lousy whistle. Nice chuffs.
