Has anyone here tried swapping a Sound version P2K GP-7 shell with a Non Sound version of the same make ? [%-)]

Depends on which run of P2K GP7 shells they are. I’ve only done this with newer runs that had sound versions and it was a direct replacement.
For the old ones that had a removable weight (via a screw) in the nose, I think if you filled the front light bar down it would fit.
