Is it me, or is the OGR forum down?
I’m getting some Mediacom [censored] screen
I don’t have any connection to mediacom
Is it working for anyone else out there?

Are you still having a problem getting on the OGR Forum?
It seems to be working , no trouble getting on.

For those intrested, I could use somemore members at my forum,

No, the OGR forum is up and rrunning, and has been operating virtually uninterrupted for a pretty darn long time now (after some glitches a year or so ago). I can’t even recall the last time it was down.
Both the OGR and CTT forums seem to be relatively unaffected by “out of action” periods, and any problems you’re experiencing are most likely the result of your ISP or computer.
There is lots of good info and good technical discussion right here on this forum and they don’t ignore questions from folks who are not part of the “in crowd”.
A lot to do about nothing. It seems that the pile on factor is pretty high. I agree Treavor there is a lot of good info spread here.
This forum and MTJ www.modeltrainjournal.com are tops. Fun folks on both.
I can’t get on. I got banned.
The other forum is great but for some weird reason, there are days when I absolutely positively cannot load their page from my home (server not found). They said it is my isp, my isp couldn’t figure it out. Tried different computers, switched to Firefox, disabled the firewall, cleared cookies, you name it. Good thing this forum is always available. A buy and sell board would be nice. hint hint [:p]
Ditto for me. (btw, kudos to the other forums as well like MTJ and didn’t know Red had one as well)
All forums can’t be everything to everyone. They all have there moments. SOme more than others.
F J& G, where in Virginia are you? I’m in Fairfax. Maybe it’s a local connection problem.
This is my “main forum” but love OGR’s Buy and Sale. Made some great deals on there and friends too. Enjoy them all.

Next county, Prince WIliam, Gainesville; yeah, usually the a.m. is hardest. TImes out.
I know who owns this CTT forum and who owns OGR forum but who owns/runs the Model Train Journal’s Forum? A “whois” search shows that the website is created by a Seattle company called designrender.com in Seattle and registered through godaddy.com in Scottsdale Arizona to the registrant DomainsByProxy.com. Domains by Proxy is a site that hides ownership of websites. No where on the Model Train Journal website can info be found on ownership of the site. Looks like someone has gone out of there way to hide the ownership. I’m not sure if this is a good or bad thing - just curious!
Anyone know who runs the MTJ Forum?
Model Train Journal is run by a guy up in New Jersey named Bill Lango, who goes by the name Billfromwayne on this forum.
I have problems with the OGR forum much more than any other. They must be using a low bid server. In other word == CHEAP
Ben is correct.
Of the three O-Guage forums most often discussed, (MTJ, CTT and OGR), MTJ is the only one not sponsored by a magazine (duh!) which throws politics out the window. Products can be discussed with the throttle wide open without the owner/publisher getting an email from an advertiser or sponsor complaining about it. While I have not met Bill personally, he is an email cronie of mine, and to the best of my knowledge, he hosts that forum at his own expense, which is a fact his membership appreciates greatly.
There is no moderation as it relates to subject matter being discussed. In contrast to the AOL Forum, it is moderated as it relates to discussions getting way out of hand or becoming personal, vulgar or otherwise offensive.
All three forums have their pluses and minuses, and folks gravitate to the one in which they have the greatest comfort level or largest circle of like-minded folks.
as an aside, Bill is also a famous entertainer - Bill From Wayne & His City Slickers appear nightly at the Club Car Lounge:
