The PA&PRR Lives!

Well, I’m back…

A funny thing happened on the way to tearing down the old layout and building a new layout based on the Milwaukee Road in the Bitterroots - it didn’t happen.

As so often happens, real life got in the way. After a couple of months, things finally settled down. Going down stairs into the train room after all that time, I looked over all I had done so far and I realized that as cool as it would be to start over with a new layout, I couldn’t bring myself to tear down what I already had accomplished. This was especially true when I got to the small area that I had started to scenic! I imagined little HO protesters handcuffing themselves in a circle around the lone tree in that section of the layout and chanting, “All we are say-ing, is give it a chance!”

The layout appears to have taken on a life its own. What else could I do?

The Port Able and Pacific lives on!

I just ignored the protesters, besides I promised them a better world. They don’t have to put up with all the mistakes I made. So out with the Virginia Northern, in with the S&NY

Have Fun,

I had the same feeling a while ago. ErnieC, what did you do with the protestors?

Tis always a Model Railroad lives. Most things can be torn up and redone, but the ‘piece de la Model Railroad’ always lives, in heart, mind, and trains.

“You want me to give it a chance? Here’s my Sure-foam tool. When I have to go away for 6/7 of my week for that stupid thingy called School, YOU work on the layout.”

There’s loud cheering, until they figure out I’m serious about the having to leave part… ALthough, I am pleased that the harbor does at least have track, and the base buildings for Ducky Bill’s Boatworks. It’s a lot more than I thought I would get done. Now, if only the track were powered, and the buildongs sat on more than foam… faux water would be nice too.
