The Pennsy Lives?....SD70M-2 ??? I like it!

I don’t normally get into this sort of thing but I ran across this digitized image of a SD70M-2 that supposedly Norfolk Southern is releasing in their own’ Heritage’ Unit showing the Pennsy 5 stripe scheme integrated with the Horsehead logo and NS lettering.

All brunswick green unit.

Does anyone know if this is a real project or is this another fantasy railroad offering from the model manufacturer?

Loinel is offering this in their O scale heritage offering.

I like it if it’s something that NS is gonig to actually do- if not, they should!

I thought NS got the NYC “half” of Conrail??

Nope. NS got the PRR reporting mark - a delicious touch of irony. During the transition era virtually the only thing the Pennsy had that was worth the paper it was printed on was N&W stock.

If I may ask, where did you find this image? I was able to locate other Heritage unit schemes for NS
