the Pikes Peak & Southern Railroad Modular Group at Arapahoe County

Jeff and I attended the new train show held by the Pikes Peak and Southern club out of Colorado Springs. Certainly we enjoyed ourselves and were really glad we went today. While there were not alot of people, sellers and only two operating layouts, it was still a great show. We particularly enjoyed examining the Youth in Model Railroad layout. Their work and capabilities continue to impress and show just how much these kids have learned.

This was the first time I’d ever seen the Pikes Peak modular layout. We spent a lot of time examining this fine layout in detail. I filled my Memory Stick with pictures and was really impressed with the detailed train being pulled by four Santa Fe Warbonnets. The detailed loads were just some kind of amazing! Excellent work!

Joe Daddy,

FYI:

The Youth In Model Railroading had 3 or 4 displays and an information table at the Scout Show in Denver yesterday Saturday.

I too really enjoyed this show and visiting with the folks from Colorado Springs. Their modular layout is the best I’ve seen. This is their “first annual show” here and this could become a show to look forward to as they add more vendors and layouts. The Arapahoe Fairgrounds is a very fine facility.

I hate to admit it, but I had no idea there was a show here this weekend. Great pics!!!

The name seems familiar. Wasnt that group featured in a mag story a few years ago? If it is the same group they had some great models and moduals.
