THE PLACE: to complain about railroad's actions

OK[:D], people seemed to have forgotten my “[V]Good Railroad Museums[V]” topic, son Ill try this. With all of the railroads and Railfans out there, everyone must have complaints about a [}:)]railroad[}:)]. The whole point of this string will now be any complaints you have about any action of any railroad (Hey, even the fallen flags if you want[;)])

usually there are corporate headquarters that trains has on this site if you look.Or the trains staff can help you out.The only complaint I had was about an Indiana and Ohio crew running through Hamler. They didnt likeme taking pics so they decided to hit me with their trash.I had already took a pic of their train recorded the date and time and sent the pic to their office.whatever happened to the crew dont know dont care.

As Joe said just above – most railroad companies have ways to contact them, and, oddly, they really want to be good neighbours. If you have a genuine problem with a particular train crew for some reason or with some recurring operational thing, a polite well written note to the company can and usually will do wonders…

If you just don’t care for their corporate policy, buy stock in the company and vote!

Otherwise, I suppose here is as good a place as any… if you just don’t like the cut of their jib! Just remember to try not to attack a particular person – although Joe has a real female dog there – did you ever hear back, Joe?

I can tell Joe this if that would have been a NS crew, the crew would get time off or fired forever.

Do we really need ANOTHER thread of whining and complaining!!! I can get this any day at work! All I need to do is bring up payroll or company policies…

Yeah…like there’s this train line almost a mile from my house and get this …at night, the train guys blows the horn like ten or fifteen times, and I don’t know why cause at 11pm nobody’s at any of the 7 or eight crossings they go over. Man that realtor really got us…

Limitedclear, Yeh, I know what your saying. I guess the mindset I was in when I started this was: Maybe if I start a strict complaint string, less arguments about people’s problems with railroads on the good non-complaint topics.

now That would be refreshing![:D][:D] Good luck…

Why do they blow the horn? Maybe because they don’t want to get fired or written up by the FRA.

You guys forgot to say that i make the horn louder at night I love laying on that horn at 2am in the morning its like a early wake up call. Oh by the way my house aint by the tracks. Its across the street from the fire department. who ever heard of having a fire at 3 in the morning, and they make the most rack at that time , I almost bet they are racing the cops to the donut shop.

Dont even get the working railroaders sarted on a topic about complaining about railroads. That string will go on forever.

Well that’s just great…and all this time I had been led to believe that they were doing it for entertainments sake…while they were sitting in the cab singing…

“The stars at night…are big and bright…(horn)(horn)(horn)(horn)…deep in the heart of Texas…”

Actually, it sounds to me like you may have grounds to file criminal charges with the local law enforcement agency.

Dan and Jamie
I never heard back from them but the way I figured the pics were worth a thousand words.I havent really seen any I&O trains through Hamler(lately).Eventhough I go to Deshler as much as possible.

LOL…

For the people above who posted, and are complaining about this complaints thread, unless someone had a gun to your head and forced you to respond to this… the msot obvious thing to do would have been… now wait a minute… i had it… it WAS SO obvious too… oh yeah., DON’t respond!

I figured there were people who were going to complain about train honking. you know what i say…? Stop complaining! It only encourages me more. I’ve never been laz – an enineer. I do the walking bit and the whole nine yards, checking if the passengers make it on and off the train afetly, closing the doors, calling the stations… When the engineer and myself sit together in the cab, WE purposely honk the horn, weather its to a tune of the song, of yes we’ve even sang the “deep in the heart of texas” song too. We honk when we go by the snobby rich peoples house… I don’t know if we get complaints, but I’ve never heard of one…

Ah yes, the good old days…

“Can i get a (honk)(honk) let me get a (honk)(honk)…”

The whistles just seem louder at night because there is less noise in general. (Plus sound often carries better at night.)

I have a complaint… The place where I got to college is between two active crossings about a mile apart. One’s only a few blocks, but I don’t have a line of sight to see the trains!!! Anyone know of a house moving place that needs practice? I don’t need much, just 80 feet unobstructed to the tracks…

I will say one thing good… When you get two trains blowing for the different crossings at the same time, you don’t need to see the trains. Music to my ears
