It has been a long time since i posted i new topic, but i have not lost any intrest in trains or this forum[:)] So the last two nights i have been working on my Ho 5x5 layout. It is a old layout that i got at a yard sale for $50. I have not done much to it in the last month after i ripped out the wiring and worked on the track. So tonight i wired up the swicthes (power supply) and labeled everything i have done. Last night i hooked up some track power. Since i only have a tyco power pack for track power i skrewed a power pack to the benckwork for swicthes lights and signals. I plan to do more track work and finish up the wiring, and some simple scenery. That should be finished by about summer.
My n scale i would like to get phaze 1 finsihed to i have to get decoders for my engines finish up trackwork ballast the rails, finish adding trees and ground cover. I want to add some signals. I will build up my freight car fleet also. Next fall i will start construction of phaze 2 on the N scale. So what are your layout plans for the rest of 2006??? Tim
Good luck!
I’ll be adding to my layout this summer. Most of my MRR budget will go to track for several months. However, I will buy some freight cars and maybe an IHC 4-6-2[swg]. Oh, and I’ll be getting a Atlas S1 in CGW when they come out (pre-ordered at the LHS[8D])
I’m just trying to get my house done being built so I can move in. Then I’ll have a 10x15 room to fill with N scale. Builders are saying it looks good for Sept.
My modeling goal for 06 is to keep making progress on the N&W “Lubitorum” or lube house (a Quicki-Lube for locos) and make some progress on the HOn30 Micro Layout.
Tuff to do when there’s so much to home improvement that needs to be done. [xx(]
very nice
I’m going to ballast my freight yard (finally!) and put in some more scenery (Malakoff Hydraulic Mine Diggings) in back of it. I just spent a couple of days removing a couple of kinks in a couple of curves that my new 2-10-2 wasn’t too happy about. Oh, yah, also have to redo the curved track lead to my Microscale tall steel viaduct. And maybe replace a deck-girder bridge with a couple of Walther’s single-track through-truss spans–haven’t decided on that particular project, yet. Oh, yah, and trees. Got to make lots and lots of Aggro-pines for my Tahoe National Forest.
Should keep me off the streets this summer;

Need to finish my ballasting, other than that, its details details details. Little thing that need to be fixed and/or made to look correct. Then I’m going to look at weathering, something I’ve never done to my equipment.
This year my goal is to get the basic scenery done over the entire layout. Then as time permits, I will work on detailing the layout -trees, fire escapes, roof details, people, etc.

Thanxs for the replies!!! Happy Modeling
