The Santa Fe lives

Case in point, this pair of GP60Ms working the Fullerton local on Veterans day. To top it all of, ATSF 999795 (shoving platform) was tacked onto the rear.

Thanks 4 looking,

I really like those GP60M units…they’re the closest thing we have to day to an F unit and we occassionally see pairs of them at Eola which make for a nice treat.

It is unfortunate most of the GPM’s around here have become pretty 'SCRUFFY" [banghead]

We have all enjoyed Mike Haverty’s vision of an ideal locomotive paint scheme to honor the Santa Fe for too long. That at least two are still wearing that Warbonnet scheme is an amazing fact.

And we should honor Bif Mike, again, for his bringing back the really fantastic heritage scheme of KSC and KCSdeM’s “Southern Belle” .

Thanks, BIG MIKE![bow]

Yes, a big thanks to Mike, truly a great paint scheme.

Thx 4 looking,

The GP60Ms in ATSF paint still look good after 20 years of service. The same can’t be said about their GE counterparts though:(

Here’s a couple of links to GP60M’s on the San Jac branch line maybe 60 miles from Fullerton …

Several times I’ve seen three or four GP60M’s parked for the night on the line right by the I-215 Freeway.
