When is Atlas going to do an Alco T-6?
Dumb question: What’s a T-6?
Last time I checked it was a radial-engined trainer that the Vietnamese and Thai (with US pilots) Air Forces flew as a ground attack platform in SEA.
Somehow I don’t think Atlas will be building one - Monogram had it covered.

That´s an Alco T-6:

Years ago, there was a brass version made by KMT available, maybe you should check the used brass market instead of waiting too long.
It might help more if you put “T-6” in your Subject line. As it is, it’s just another one of those vague Subject titles that people tend to ignore.
Fewer than 60 built, for a handful of railroads. Not very compelling.
There are far bigger profits to be had – for example, there has been no mass-produced N Scale Alco S-1/3 or S-2/4 in over two decades. There were thousands of examples for a hundred or so railroads. Should be easy money for Atlas or Bachmann, who obviously have all the prototype information on hand.
I’m waiting for its fraternal twin the S6 in SP livery.
Chuck, that is the first thing that came to me also.[:-,]
cuyama,
Well, today’s your lucky day. [bday] If you look on Atlas’ Facebook page, you will see that they just announced at the National Train Show today that they will be coming out with the Alco S-2 in N-Scale.
Featuring:
All wheel drive/pick-up
Dual Flywheel motor
NMRA 6-pin plug in decoder
Diecast long hood
Directional lighting
AccuMate couplers
Horizontal and vertical grills will be used as prototype
Not all the initial roads are listed. So far, only BNSF seems to be posted. BNSF? Oooookay.

You can always scratch build your own T-6.
By the time you get one completed, they will come out with the commercial model!
Actually, with all the “pre-ordering” going on and the “new way of manufacturing” only what gets preordered WHEN it becomes profitable to do so, you will be lucky if they produce ANY new locos!
[8-|],
Hi!
Is the OP advertising the new loco ???
Paul, yes, that’s S-2-pendous news! Amazingly, Bachmann also just announced an N Scale S-4, which I would have made do with. When it rains it (happily) poors.
Just remember …Atlas is not manufacturing anything…just distributing .
And your point is?
There are thousands of household products we use every day that come from suppliers who use contract manufacturers in the same way, including the computer you typed that on.
There is a huge difference between selling proprietary products that have been designed by Atlas and built under contract and simply “distributing”.
rdgk1se3019,
But who designed it? Who did the research? Who owns the tooling? Who put up the money?
