the worst paint job

I was just wondering what paint jobs you think are the ulgy to you.I can’t think what mine are

The worst I can remember were the Penn Central E-units used on the Chicago Valpo commuter trains right after the merger. Although they received a coat of black paint, they were mostly rust and the PC letters and numbers were barely visible or missing. Horrible thing to do to an E unit.

The rest of those trains were even worse with broken windows, torn seats, no heat, and so on. If ever there was a justification for Amtrak, that was it!

To this date:The Union Pacific,Norfolk Southern.Lets see…
Oh ya…The CN & CP,Oh im sorry I forgot the canadan’s are watching[:D]…OPS!

One of the cardinal rules of life is to never tell a man his wife is ugly but I have to say that in my opinion the green and black BN paint job is one the ugliest I ever saw. a horrible shade of green to my eyes and boring. Now the new schemes are incredible so I guess BN agreed with me.

The worst that I can think of was an experimental paint job tried on a few switchers by the IHB in the early 1960’s. The basic color was jade green with a red lightning stripe and white trim with a large red IHB herald on the cab with white lettering.

I was never too fond of Chessie paint on a GE. I like their paint scheme on other locomotives but on GE’s it just doesn’t seem to fit right.

Penn Central and Norfolk Southern are ugly, same with the UP “bandits” and early Conrail reletterings.

Early Conrail, solid black with just a tiny CR.
Union Pacific.
Florida Fun Train. That scheme hurt my eyes.

SPSF in the 1980’s. Talk about ugly!!!

here are mine CSX (YN1) CN ‘‘draper traper’’ there are many more that I can’ t think of

VIA’s Telus engine is a little much for the retina.

CSX “stealth” gray.

ANYTHING NS MAKES ME CRY!

I have to say NS.

Forgot to add Dark Future on non wide nose locos (it looks great on the SD70AC’s).

I hate the Famly Lines System’s paint but it was an excellent railroad. I also hate Guilford’s scheme. I also don’t care for the railroad either. I hate to say it but CSX needed some help when they came out with the gray background w/ dark blue lettering, that was just a pittiful design. But they fixed that with thwe intoduction of the yn3 paint scheme.

Equally the CSX all gray Stealth motif and the so called Dark Future,

Stealth is just bleah!

Dark Future - the shades of Blue and Gold are just ‘not right’ and besides that it is booring.

The Chessie System paint scheme looked like it was developed by Tyco for a cheap train set[xx(]

New Haven in the McGinnis days.

there was one; i forgot what its called, but their locos are brown, orange, and maroon if i remember correctly
