There is a need for a SPV Steam Powered Video Online or Electronic Rail atlas

I would be more then happy to pay for a version of the SPV railroad atlas rather then dragging around 6 or 7 of these tomes around adding pounds to my pack and hurting my back. If I had a app that would be great. SPV has historical info that Professional Railroad Atlas does not.

If the need was there, such an app or device would already be marketed.

Take care of your SPV atlas. Have heard that there will be no new editions or updates. Mexico Central america volume would be nice.

Before taking a trip, I copy the pages with maps of where I will be riding and carry the copies in a loose leaf binder… This reduces the bulk of what I carry considerably.

I’ve still got my Rand McNally rail atlas, which lacked the detail of the SPV publications, but is a fascinating look back to when it was published (late 70’s, I think).

It’s not as fascinating as my 1957 Official Guide, but that’s not all that portable. I’d likely leave aged confetti around if I took it out “on the road.”
