They didn’t just forget the dynamics… look at this… http://www.drgw.net/cnw/SD45/954/954.html

Maybe it’s the prototype for an SD45 dummy.

Ouch. Looks like its guts will live on helping other units to survive. On a related sad note, in 1986 I was in Omaha when they were scrapping all the DD35s. Most of them looked like this. I spent about an hour walking through the grave yard. Unfortunately I didn’t have my camera either. Later I found out that they didn’t save a single one of them.

Could be the next Green Goat. That would look pretty cool, I think.[:D][:D]

maybe a bit long for a green goat? I thought they were only using geeps.
A bit of advice, when shopping for a locomotive, DON’T BUY IT IF IT LOOKS LIKE THIS![:)]trainboy

Probably on the way to becoming a slug.

Looks pretty stripped down, I lean towards canabalism in it’s most scariest. Think what those engines on either side are wondering[:O][X-)][C=:-)][dinner][xx(]

My first thought was that it had the engine pulled for a major overhaul. Then I saw it is 36 years old. I think it is scrap yard time.

Texas Zephyr,
UP did save one of their DD35s. It is number 6936 and it is now used in Cheyenne for excursions and special events. I got to see it in action this past July. It was a pretty neat sight!

Incorrect. Loco 6936 is a DDA40X Centennial, not a DD35.[:D]
Congrats on seeing her in operation (you lucky dog)![tup]
