They're Heeere! And man-O-man they're gorgeous (New Cabeese) More Pics added

Went to the LHS yesterday for a thing or two (ya right) and there they were…

The new newest offering from True Line Trains. Again I’m really impressed with them as the detail is some of the best I’ve seen yet.

Those look great!! I just sent a payment for a DWP one, can’t wait to see it!!

Ive got a few multimarks comming my way!

Fergie:

Waiting for mine, they are supposed to be on their way to the LHS. Mind telling us what they cost? I had to pay the full list price of $45.00 for the CN one I got. I’d seen posts on other forums where they were going for $35-38 in Upper Canada.

It looks as though they actually painted the end handrails (as opposed to the CN run where they just molded them in color). Ferg, can you confirm this?

David B

I snuck in an order at the very last minute. Mine may even be in the post office box today.*

They sure are nice, Fergiemeister.

Edit - * Just recieved the invoice and shipping costs/notification by email this morning. $40.99 plus shipping 12 by UPS w/ insurance. Does that mean I’ll have to pay something more to UPS when they produce it? [:(]

From the photos and the company ad, those ladders sure look to be on the large side, but easily replaced. As a boy scout we stayed in a camp that had 7 or 8 of these as cabins, years later we were asked to help clean up the campsite and we had to burn all those caboosi, people asked to buy them but they declined.

I’ll be picking mine up on the weekend, I ordered one from each era.

Here are more close up pics

David: these kits still come with a disclaimer regarding no paint on the rails as they are made from plastic. Saying that thet railings/ladders seem to be a more solid coloured plastic then the CN version. I really had to look hard to see if it was paint or plastic.

I’m still thinking of getting the brown 1st generation paint job.

Fergie

Dont forget to put in your clasification lights!

David B

Not to worry as they are still sitting in the plastic. I’m thinking Fibre optics and lighting for these. I’m thinking the “Rapido system” But not too sure. It will be quite some time before that happens.

Very nice looking hacks…Odd looking cupola side windows tho’.

I think it looks even better than the CNR version they did in December. The handrails, ladders, and steps at the end are un-painted Celcon, but they match the body paint very well.

Just beautiful…

I picked up a trio of Action Yellow Woodies and I intermixed them with my current roster…

In the top pick you have:

  1. TLT Woodie

  2. Athabasca CPR Wide Vision Brass kit (built and painted by me…color mix by me as well)

  3. TLT Woodie

  4. Van Hobbies Steal Caboose (I got it for 35 dollars…in pieces. I had to rebuild and paint it)

  5. TLT Woodie

  6. Athabasca Wide Vision Brass kit (Ready for paint)

I also have another unbuilt Athabasca kit yet to be built. After it is built, then my CPR Van roster will be completed.

The Woodies will get some heavy underbody weathering and some more fading for the paint. I want to ‘ghost’ some BoxCar red with some script lettering peaking through…
