It’s my sincere hope that these three feces will get slapped with a stiff sentence and be required to make restitution. Does the State of California have any means where dirtbags like these can work off the damage they caused while in lockup? If so, they should remain in custody until every cent is paid back to WARM.
Is their a fund to help repair the damage?
I would certainly agree with both Mr. Johnson’s and Mr. Keiser’s comments. I would add that I believe the consequences for some actions are way too little while others are too harsh. Thieves who are destroying property need to be faced with the security firm of Smith & Wesson. They could probably only fire blanks, but maybe that would scare the crap out of the hooligans.
Vandalized almost twice a year for 10 years…a flat lined learning curve about security.
Some docents with AR-15s ought to provide nocturnal tours of the grounds…at the very minimum.

Put an electric fence around the museum and attach very small warning signs. This does work. Many businesses storing their equipment outside in yards install electric fences.
Less than a year ago a similar crime occurred at the train museum in Perris, Ca where copper wiring was stolen from inside locomotives; I like these perps for that one too. Hopefully they can be linked to that crime and put away for a long time.
I would like to rearrange the bodies of these perps in California!
Why don’t thry have security cameras and a private agency employed for security if they are getting vandalized so much. It would be cheaper than 100,000 dollars. Did they get the items back?
If they are caught, hang 'em high by the toenails & stuff with an inorganic carrot!
How about we rip out their copper wiring (guts) the was of human life
Seems that a couple of simple buildings could be put up for the cost of the damage these 18 vandalisms have caused.
What a shame. It seems that there is very little legal repercussions from crimes like these.I would think the laws against this type of crime need to be made more severe to hopefully cause the human trash considering doing these acts to think twice before committing them.
Eighteen incidents of vandalism in ten years? Why, oh why do some people seem to have to learn things the hard way? I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, IF you’ve got a rail museum and IF that museum has some irreplaceable artifacts or anything else “tasty” to thieves and assorted losers you had BETTER have a no BS securtity system! If you have to put off some restorations to pay for it, do so! You won’t be sorry you did!
The vandals should be forced to do cleanup/repair to the car in addition to other legal punishments. An eight foor chain link fence with concertina wire on top could be a deturrant to future vandalism. Too bad the constitution outlaws public whippings.
I agree better security is the answer. The problem is the museum probably does not have the funding. The suspects, if convicted, should be required to do community service at the museum plus reimburse for the cost of the damage and repair.
MAKE THEM MOP FLOORS & WORK IN THE MUSEAUM FOR THE BALANCE OF THERE IVES FOR FREE TO PAY FOR THE DAMAGE JB EAST CHINA MI
probably because the because they don’t have the money for security even though these items are worth more. They often com on thru donations from the railroads.
make them pay.
