If you are interested in ordering the Third Rail N&W Class K —Please order this engine ASAP. As it stands right now there are not enough orders to produce this model. I for one want to see this made.–If you want to wait and see what it looks like first-chances are we will never see it at all.

How does it differ from the well known #611 “J”?
Maybe folks are spending their train $'s putting gas in their car or saving it to heat their homes this winter.
Boyd,
The N&W J is quite a bit larger and is shaped slightly different. The J is a (numbered 600-613) 4-8-4 Northern type.
The K is a 4-8-2 Mountain type. The K’s were nicknamed “baby J’s”,numbered 100-137 and 200-209… If you take a look at some of the O.Winston Link books you will see that many of the pictures are of N&W K’s.

That’s right Roger. Seems like a lot of the train makers have been cancelling stuff lately, especially MTH. 3rd Rail ain’t my cup of tea anyway. No big deal if they cancel.
Well to each their own. I’m not a super big steam engine fan though I do have a few. But if someone where to make a decidely NON-scale scrunched 027 version of any bullet nosed steamer (even with a plastic body) I think I’d be saving my nickles and dimes to get one. The last one of these made for us 027 guys (and the one and only one too) was decades ago by Lionel. I’d love to see them bring that one back. Or anyone for that matter… here’s an item ignored for a market that also gets ignored.
There seems to be no shortage of nice engines like this 3rd Rail one on the scale end, so that could account for things too. Although 3rd Rail does make some nice stuff, no questions there.
Roger, you are right on. Gas is eating up my train budget and cost too much to fill up my boat and go to the lake too [which in the fall is my main fishing time]. [:(] *^~#
