I was testing out the ballast job with a run through and in backing the train up , this happened and as I cused a little I noticed how it almost screamed out at me to take a picture as it looked so STAGED . It was not REALLY. Maybe the protesters had a hand in this.
The whole area showed up to watch and a local artist even painted a watercolor of the event.

I think that the ACT might be looking into the possibility that the Fifer Unobtainium Mine in the background may have had some influance on the accident.

It only gets better when you’re using either a Proto 2000 SD45 or SD60 so it just keeps shoving and your around the corner and don’t know whats going on untill you notice its not moving anymore

Mike, your trailer park residents are very fortunate to have avoided damage, but it seems they are still cowering in their homes rather than observing the wreckage.
We all expect a report detailing the cause of this incident.

One never knows what causes these things, Mike. It’s best to write them off as acts of God or at least Gremlins. At least nothing hit the floor. And I hate when that happens.

After the first , on scene investigation, it appears that there are some footprints leading from a partially thrown switch to the 3rd mobile home to where there is a small boy atop the hood of the old car in the front yard. Maybe he knows something!

Looks like the switch was thrown while the train was passing.
If those were Kadee ATSF hoppers I’d suspect them as the problem…which means you don’t want them and I’ll gladly take them off your hands [:P]
But the square hatches makes me think they’re another manufactures, so I guess you can keep em [:D]

Matt is actually the best guess. It is all N Scale though. The cars are Kato but have the same weight problem. They have been removed for re-weighting. The boy has been cleared as a suspect but the investigation is still open pending contract negotiations at Fifer Unobtainium.

Yup, quite a few times. I even got T-boned not once but twice going over a diamond, by the same guy.
First time he hit the last hopper on the train, knocked the last two hoppers and caboose off the tracks; I tried to gun it to get out of the way, but a 40-car grain train behind 2 GP9s isn’t as fast as the same type of GP9 pulling a 10-car manifest. (the offending GP9 and my GP9s are all P2K)
Second time, his berkshire hit my DRGW passenger train in the dome car right in front of the observation car. Again I tried to gun it, but the 3 Bachmann FTs pulling 13 heavy passenger cars isn’t going to out run Berks double heading a 20-car frieght at full speed. (this one was rather nasty, knocked 5 passenger cars off the rails, and the one that was hit got pushed a foot away, knocking over trees, cars, and lineside buildings and details; basically lots of dead passengers)
Like I’ve been saying, LOL, that’s crazy. Great job, I think. [%-)] I’m not sure whether that’s a “good job” or “fix something” moment. probably both. Well, great scenery.[tup]
