Last night 10/31/2006 I was working on a new shelf for the stereo system. Train power was OFF and no one else in the basement. Radio on, then the “WHISTLE on the BLI HUDSON tooted 2 times then NOTHING!!” The trains have their own circuit with breaker whici is turned OFF at the box in case of a short or other problem. So NO power to that area.
I am not a beliver or non beliver in ghosts. BUT this is spooky.[:O]
I would imagine most any kind of static charge couldda made that happen.
Remember, it was Hallowe’en. A likely cause was spurious radition from the radio, but like you say this is spooky.
I think “haunting” is CV 1031 in the BLI QSI sound decoder.

Al capasitors store power, lots of weird things happen in electronics, some of them unexpected!!! Hey I walk down the street and lights go out sometimes and sometimes one after another as I go by, this happens alot,this has freaked out pals, happens to my daughter too, try to explain that!!!

Hmmm, and here all this time I thought I was the only one that caused streetlights to go off as I approach them… This is getting wierder and wierder.

Heck, if my wife puts any cellphone within 6" of her head, it hangs up about 80% of the time – and she doesn’t even have a metal plate in there or anything… But we’ve tried plenty of 'em and decided that good ‘speakerphone’ is a requirement where she’s concerned.

My R/C Terror Rat that I chase trick or treaters with last night was spontaniously moving from time to time, interference from other nearby radio sources like keybobbles, TV remotes, and such. Likely the same thing coupled with capacitor charge bleed.
Halloween or not, I had a girlfriend that claimed streetlights would go out. They Ddid! She often would predict the next one to go out. Not 100% accurate, but more than enough not to doubt her. The guy from the city light department suggested I get rid of her.

You could definitely use that as a selling point if you ever decide to sell it. “Rare One of a Kind HAUNTED BLI Hudson.” That should ratchet up the bidding.

Notice the ORBS in each photo. Flash, digital camera and you can see the only other lights. No one upstairs to cause dust and it was at night with no windows, ALSO the Orbs are in different locations so it is not the lens. The space is 1850 sq ft.
