This is post 10,000

Dang, I post a lot.

It shows 10001. Somehow I think that will change. [:-^]

That’s a lot of posting.

Who’s complaining?

Whoops, this makes only 1,254 for me. I gotta catch up.

I have some catchign up to do, considering I was here before you [:D]

Maybe this is this why?

A worthy milestone if there ever was one, Chip. [:)]

Chip:

Holy Cow, we joined the forum about the same time and you’re almost four thousand ahead of me, and you’ve been ABSENT for a while! [:O]

Oh, wait a minute. You’re DCC and I’m DC. I’ve got it now, you people have to post more to get information on how to keep everything from Frying and Blowing Up,LOL! [:P]

Just kidding.

Congratulations on the 10,000. IMO it means that the hobby still fascinates you and you’re still sharing. That is a Very Good Thing. [bow]

Tom [:D]

Yeah, a few here are like teens texting. [:)]

You have no life!!! But who am I to talk as I have none either!

I sure hope I don’t get to 10,000 post, I can’t afford the decoders! [:D]

Congratulations! Nice to have you back. Your posts are always worth concideration.

Have fun,

Isn’t it about time for old guys like you to slow down?

I have to say that unlike many people with high post counts because of the 100s of “nice work” or “cool” or “breakfast today is blah blah”, most of your posts have been worth reading. Very few of your posts have been like the one that started this thread. I have also really enjoyed the ride. I’ve seen you become a real model railroader from someone who originally came here to ask questions about toy trains.

I remember the Hogwarts. I remember you coming up with the concept of freelance before realizing it was a common thing. I remember the Bachmann EZ-track turnout issues. I remember bunches of Rock Ridge and Train City issues and then its resurrection in 1891, with bunches of track planning. If I sat here and thought I would probably think of more remembrances like when you discovered John Allen.

It has always been a refreshing view from one with eyes wide open. Very different from me who grew up with model trains knowing the differences between the scales and how to hand lay track since pre-school. A view different from when John Allen, Lynn Westcott, and John Armstrong ruled the pages of the popular magazines.

Of course my goal this year was to reduce my number of posts per year by 1/2. I calculated that at about 20 minutes per post/re post/ correct again post, that I was spending wayyyy to much time on this forum. Way too much posting not enough playing with real things like model trains. I’ve not done too bad. Think I have only accumulated 300 or so this year so far. Neither do I know my real post count because last time I tried to cut back I ended up logging on with my new e-mail ID and 1000 or so under that name - sigh.

Anyway so when might we expect the next layout design contest. Of course this time of year you would be in direct competition with MRs.

Chip - it feels good to have “the mouse back”. Your web pages have offered me a lot of help and guidance to get my thinking right [:D]

This place here is certainly addictive! I joined less than a year and a half ago and my post count is already zeroing in on 2,200. This forum offers a colorful mix of topics and also a colorful bunch of opinions towards them - it is the people, who keep it alive and addictive!

Addictive is right on. I’m pretty new here but I read the posts every day after work.

Keep it up and you might pass me.

Almost too addictive. I keep telling myself I’ll spend less time here but the voices keep calling me back. [:D]

Yeah, but you STILL don’t have a working layout.[:D]

LOL Layout is working and is fine. Pics in my sig. Definitely not what I want it to be though but hey, you need something left to do. [:)] I just get into the little community side of it I guess as well.

Edit: Oops Didn’t realize He was talking about the OP.
