Does anyone know the rest of the story on this locomotive. The caption in the magazine says that an Alaska Railroad locomotive is being used on the Northshore Mining railroad in Minnesota.
Is this locomotive still owned by ARR, or by a leasing company?
If it is owned by ARR, how did it end up in Minnesota. I can’t see barging a locomotive down to Seattle (or nearby) just to lease it for a few months. Is it on its way to a rebuild, or on its way back from one?
Just seems a bit odd.
