Well I do not know what you have planned for this winters work season but for me I am RE-excited by the plans of expanding my layout in the basement to a section that will add about 25-30ft of more mainline runs. It will take up an area about 10x10ft around two walls and back into the exsisting layout. I hate to describe it like this but it will look like the side of a womans breast w/o the nipple added to the layout.[:)][oops] I said the word AGAIN in the heading because the first two winters of layout building was very productive doing everything of course. The layout is 3 1/2 years old now so last winter I did not do much at all. It is nice to look forward to building. I look at myself as a model railroading BUILDER more than anything else. I enjoy building the layout but run it very seldom. So to have this new expansion planned is what I really look forward to this winter. I like to make a bunch of supplies come together to look like a little realistic region. Take a lot of pictures then show off my work. I like to detail, wire, benchwork, laying track and all that building a layout consist of. I am now about to take on the task of learning how to weather equipment since I just got an airbrush set last week. So this winter will be very productive and more than last winter! What is your winter plans looking like guys? Are you more of a builder or a train runner?
Nothing real special. Going to try and repaint a few locomotives depending on how the first one turns out. I just found another loco that I plan to repaint. Makes up 4 now that I’ll try and paint into my shortline. Going to have two GP7’s, a GP40, and a GP50 that will make up the fleet. Should be interesting if I can get it done. That’s about all I have planned. Maybe buy some more stuff if I have money.
Been thinking about making a module, might be easier now if I have the shortline fleet to work with. I could have done it before, but having a shortline engine will look beter to me.
MORE HEAT! I’m more of a builder. I like it when all the scenery comes together.
