Has anyone made a Thomas themed layout? I want to make a small one for my son. Any idea on accessories? The only ones I have seen are the wooden items which don’t look good with the Lionel set.
I had thought about it. I would have included a windmill, lots of fences and rocky scenery, a station, and a dock area. Animate the windmill, use a gantry crane on the docks, etc

The Authors railways
I won’t start on this one it makes me wild what commercial interests have done to Thomas.
[soapbox]
I would suggest Hornby OO scale for a Thomas railway they seem to have the best range of trains and line side accessories
I don’t think at the present time Lionel has a good enough range to be able to do a proper Thomas railway
But on Thomas my opinion is as biased as you can get.

Yep, I had one in N scale. Here are a few photos I’m stunned to have uncovered…
My first attempt at kitbashing. The engines and accessories were by Tomix - I purchased them directly from a store on the Ginza.
Here’s the compact box layout they have for the kids at the Imagination Station during Day Out With Thomas event.
Great layout, Doug!
There are other pages on this site that show pics of his other layouts.
The Lionel Engine House looks like the right type of building for Thomas and Friends on a small layout.
Lionel O Gauge Bridges will fit well.
The Roundhouse and Turntable is something to consider. Atlas O, Korber, and Bowser models.
