Those Innocent Amish sitting next to you on the train...

http://www.geocities.com/beaver_militia/recon.html

Yes we have all seen them almost every Amtrak Train has at least one Amish Family enroute to somewhere on the train…I love the Amish (And there cheese) as I would rather have a Amish Family sit next to me then someone with rap music blasting out of there headphones…

But I never knew this!!

Trainfinder, are you going to go nuts again ?

rotfl! that’s a great site. Someone’s got a twisted sense of humor and a lot of time on their hands! Yoy gotta follow the link to Osama being trained by the amish because they liked his “bitchin’ beard”. Great stuff. I never though I’d say this, but thanks Trolley, that site made my day. Go try the home page, a non-militant militia that militan about about being non-militant.

Give credit where it is due. He simply copied the link from the other hobo thread. It was posted yesterday by Poppa Zit.

Oh, didn’t know that. Well i retract that comment and say thanks to Poppa Zit.

Or go mad in Texas![;)]

Gee- I have Amish going by my house every day (they’re settling in the area - a family lives about a half mile from me). Whodathunk? [;)]

I am not sure why a link was ever posted to this site. As for the nut who made the website , they definitly have serius mental problems and should get some help.

Ironically in 1983, my Mom and I took the Silver Star to New York City from Florida. We rode by coach and across from us, indeed, was an Amish family. Mother, Father, a boy, two girls. Quiet and pleasant people. I think they got off the Star in Virginia (it was just before we got into the northeast corridor…

They weren’t carrying any methaine bombs, were they?

on a more seriose note

Don’t them people Bath and Keep the same Clothing on 2 times a Year?

…If the Amish folks are the biggest concern we have in this country…We really have no concern at all…Believe they live their lives the way they do by choice and handle most of their problems without outside help and or money. Basically good people.

They are the gentlest, most respectful people I know. We have full-fledged old-order here - they won’t even put the “slow moving vehicle” triangle on their buggies and wagons. Sometimes their selective use of technology tickles me (particle board sheathing and Tyvek housewrap on an addition they built), but you can believe what they say.

Anybody who has studied the beliefs of the Amish to any extent would be aware that they do not have a blind opposition to modern technology. Their use or avoidance is based on its effect on the family unit and the community. They are also pacifists by belief so the creator of the website is either overly paranoid or a complete idiot or both.
