Three Hots and a Cot (pics)

If you are ever driving threw a small town just West of nowhere, be very careful. Make sure you use your turn signals, stop at all the stop signs, and do not throw anything out your car window. If you do and the local authorities catch you, we have overnight provisions for you.

You will be treated to all the comforts of home, one small cot with a blanket, (no heat or AC) and bread and water for breakfast and lunch.

This may not look like much of a jail but it is modeled after the one here in Manitou, Okla. Although it has not been used in 50+ years, it is still standing and is now a historical landmark. It was built in about 1920.

Hope you like the pics, here are a couple of the prototype.

This is of the inside (you can go inside if you would like) Tha jail is still 100% functional!

I hope you enjoy the pics as much as I did modeling it. Comments welcome. Mike

WOW! Before I enlarged the pic or read your text, I thought it was a doghouse![(-D]

Good work. The prototype looks like it could withstand a tornado, bet you could fit a nice-sized N scale layout in there…

I feel bad for whoever was held in that jail!

Very nice model and concept. We saw a similar jail in Clifton Az that was in a little cave. Those were harsh times. I just imagine that cell when the temp is 101. Great work.

They ought to bring back jails like that…the ones they have now are country clubs…chuck

There is one like that in Grapevine Texas! This morning it was 122 degrees on the side of my house and I’m about 10 minutes from it. It would be a lovely place in the Texas summer.

A true model railroader is INCAPABLE of looking in a room and NOT envisioning what kind of layout could be built in that room! ROFL

Darrell, quiet…for now
