Three Way Switches - actually used in real life?

I remember reading about the V&T having a three way stub switch, but it took a few decades to find out where it was, about two blocks west of Mountain Street in Carson City. The center track was the main line continuing on Washington, the south branch was the house track on Caroline, and the north branch went to an engine house. The switch presumably used the same 40 pound rail that was used on the Reno - Carson City line and it was probably easy to “bend the iron”.

I just looked on google maps at the yard in Elkhart Ind and looks to be at least 10 three way switches coming off the hump there

there videos on YouTube of hump yards that use 3way switches one of them is the erie in Marion Ohio
